Hi, Debra,
I'm a freelance graphic designer, working on a MacBook Pro. I use QuickBooks Online, and it works great (usually -- as with any program, there are bugs and issues, on occasion)!
Pro: easy invoicing/can set it up to accept bank drafts or credit cards, and all the client has to do is click the 'Review and pay' button in the email that gets sent out. Quick/easy way to get paid, if clients take advantage of it (I still have some clients who prefer to mail physical checks, which can be fun to wait for.......).
Pro: can upload a custom invoice template design (that you design in Word), though this is certainly a bit more technical in nature, to get things set up properly/fields linked correctly. Still haven't got this working 100% the way I want (subtotal doesn't populate in my custom invoice, for some reason, even though I thought I had linked to the correct field type, but the total shows). This is optional, though, and you have other predefined templates to choose from.
Cons: has had some bugs/issues on occasion and some connection issues with Wells Fargo in the past (one notable WF issue saw really weird income/expense issues until WF got things fixed on their end, which took 10-12 days, if I remember correctly; it was a long wait).
